Selia Butler was born and raised in Kenai, Alaska. While attending law school at Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ms. Butler served as a Staff Editor and later as Executive Editor of the school’s Journal of Global Justice and Public Policy. She was also a member of the Trial Advocacy Board. Ms. Butler interned at the State of Alaska District Attorney’s Office in Kenai, Alaska, and later on the Senate Energy Committee Majority staff during Senator Lisa Murkowski’s chairmanship. In her final year of law school, Ms. Butler also worked as a law clerk for the American Center for Law and Justice.
Prior to joining Holmes Weddle & Barcott, Ms. Butler clerked for the Honorable Lance Joanis on the Alaska Superior Court in Kenai for two years. She can often be found performing in local theatrical productions.
